Illinois Traffic Alert System Frequently Asked Questions

Q: "I tried logging in but I receive a message that there is no account with my email address. What should I do?"
A: If you are receiving the alerts on your phone, your account is based on that e-mail address, e.g. 6301234567@messaging.nextel.com. If you're unsure of your phone's email address, you can enter your telephone number and provider to log in on the Illinois Traffic Alert System home page at http://www.iltrafficalert.com.

Q: "What is my password?"
A: Your Illinois Traffic Alert System password is encrypted in our database for your privacy so we cannot remind you of it via email. If you have forgotten your password, enter your email address in the box under "Forgot Password" at http://www.iltrafficalert.com/ and press "Send Password", and a new password for accessing your account will be sent to you.

Q: "I do not have my account activation code. Where can I get one?"
A: You should have received an email giving you a six letter activation code to enter at the web page http://verify.iltrafficalert.com. If you do not have the code, log in to the Illinois Traffic Alert System at http://www.iltrafficalert.com/ by entering your Email address and password and pressing "Log in". If your account has not been activated, there will be a button labeled "Send Activation Email" at the top of the page. Press this button and your code will be Emailed to you.

Q: "Where do I enter my activation code?"
A: Do not reply directly to the message containing your activation code. Instead, visit the page http://verify.iltrafficalert.com, which contains a box in which you can enter your code to activate your Illinois Traffic Alert System account.
